About PickleballTrue

PickleballTrue is an independent guide to pickleball for beginners and recreational players. We write about technique, rules, gear, court etiquette and the community around the game — in plain language, without hype, and without pretending the sport is more complicated than it is.

The site was started by a recreational player in Vietnam who could not find clear, honest answers to the questions every new player has: where do I stand, why was that a fault, which paddle should I actually buy first. PickleballTrue is our attempt to write those answers down properly.

Eight languages, eight editions

PickleballTrue is published in English, Vietnamese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. Each edition is written on its own for the players who read it — the German edition is not a translation of the English one, and it does not need to cover the same topics. That is why you will find different articles in each language.

How our articles are made

Articles are published under the name PickleballTrue Editorial Team. A few rules guide what goes up:

• We start from questions real players ask on court and in clubs.
• Rules articles aim to follow the official rulebook. When we quote a rule, a number or a result, we try to name the source.
• When we get something wrong, we fix it directly in the article. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

We are recreational players, not certified coaches or referees. Our guides describe what works for club-level play; they are not a substitute for a lesson with a qualified coach or for the official rules of your federation.

Independence, gear and affiliate links

Our Paddle Library and Shoe Library link to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, PickleballTrue earns from qualifying purchases made through those links. It does not change the price you pay, and it never decides what we write: every paddle and shoe page shows the same specs and notes whether or not anyone buys it.

We do not accept payment to review or recommend equipment, and manufacturers do not see articles before they are published.
