Overview
This paddle weighs 7.8-8.2 ounces and measures 16.6 inches long by 7.4 inches wide. Its elongated shape gives you extra reach, while the 15.2mm Power Flex Polymer Core favors control over the thinner 12.7mm version. The raw carbon fiber face adds a textured surface for spin.
Reviewers describe the Pro1 Innovation as powerful but more balanced than earlier Pursuit models. Its weight distribution supports flex and dwell time, which can help keep hard topspin shots in play. The shape feels narrow and long, and one review noted occasional dead spots near the top on mishits.
Play style
This paddle fits an aggressive style built around drives, serves, fast counters, and heavy topspin. Reviewers found the raw carbon surface produced very high spin, while the 15.2mm core offered more control than the 12.7mm option.
The 16.6-inch length helps when you need reach or like taking big swings from the baseline. Its narrow profile may feel less comfortable at the kitchen than a widebody paddle. Look elsewhere if soft hands and maximum plushness matter more than pace and spin.
Best for
- Players who build points around powerful drives and serves
- Baseline players who want extra reach and heavy topspin
- Players moving to a first power paddle but still wanting control
- Two-handed players who value room on the long handle
Look elsewhere if
- Players who prefer a widebody paddle with a broader hitting area
- Players prioritizing plush touch and soft kitchen resets
- Players who often miss near the upper edge of the paddle
- Players who want the quickest, most compact feel at the net
Strengths
- High spin potential from the raw carbon fiber face, according to reviewers
- Strong power for drives and serves
- The 15.2mm core adds control compared with the thinner model
- The elongated 16.6-inch shape provides extra reach
- Reviewers found a larger sweet spot than earlier Engage models
Things to consider
- The long, narrow shape can feel less familiar than a widebody paddle
- Some reviewers noticed dead spots near the top on mishits
- Its power-focused character may demand more touch on soft kitchen shots
- Check whether the 15.2mm control model or 12.7mm pop model better fits your game
