Franklin Sports MLB USAP Pickleball Paddle

This paddle uses a 13mm polypropylene core and fiberglass surface layer. The core is built for durability and added power, while the fiberglass face supports a larger central sweet spot and controlled contact. Its 7.5-inch width gives it a familiar, control-focused shape, and the 5.6-inch handle leaves room for a comfortable two-handed grip. The premium cushion grip should also help during longer sessions.

At 9.6 ounces, it is a substantial paddle rather than an ultra-light option. That weight can add stability on blocks and hard exchanges, though it may feel slower for players who rely on rapid hand changes. One reviewer found it solid, stiff but manageable, and easy to maneuver. The paddle is USA Pickleball approved, so you can use it in approved tournament play.

The fiberglass face and MaxGrit surface suit players who want a blend of control and spin. The textured surface is designed to increase traction on the ball, and a reviewer reported improved spin and impressive control. That combination should help with serves, topspin drives, and angled shots when you want to shape the ball rather than simply hit through it.

The 13mm core favors a balanced game instead of maximum power. The paddle should feel stable for blocks and firm exchanges, while the 9.6-ounce weight can support drives from the baseline. If your priority is very quick hands at the kitchen or repeated all-out power, a lighter or thicker-cored paddle may suit you better.
