Franklin Sports Signature Series

This version pairs a 16mm polypropylene core with a fiberglass face and textured MaxGrit surface. Its listed weight is 7.9 to 8.3 ounces, with this paddle listed at 8.1 ounces. The 16.5-inch length adds reach, while the 7.5-inch width keeps the shape fairly elongated. It is USA Pickleball approved for tournament play.

The thicker core and fiberglass face point toward a steadier, softer response than a thin power paddle. Franklin says the surface reduces vibration and enlarges the sweet spot, while reviewers describe the paddle as easy to handle with good control and spin. One review found moderate power and raised concerns about early handle failures, so durability deserves attention before buying.

This paddle fits a control-first game. The 16mm core should help with resets, blocks, and touch shots at the kitchen, while the textured face supports spin on rolls, dinks, and controlled serves. Reviewers consistently place its strengths in control and spin rather than outright power.

The 16.5-inch length gives you useful reach for volleys and wide balls. Its 8.1-ounce listed weight should still feel manageable during quick exchanges, but players who rely on big baseline drives may want a more powerful paddle. The larger 4.5-inch grip may also suit players who prefer a fuller handle.
