HEAD Boom Team EX

The 7.9-ounce paddle uses a 13 mm polypropylene honeycomb core and fiberglass hitting surface. The thicker core and fiberglass face are intended to soften contact and add accessible power. A 16.5-inch elongated shape raises the sweet spot, adds reach, and gives the paddle more leverage on serves, returns, and overheads.

The 5.5-inch handle gives you room for a two-handed backhand and can help generate leverage. Its 4.12-inch grip is close to the listed standard size, so check your preferred grip circumference before buying. The midweight build aims to balance power and control, while the longer shape may feel less quick than a shorter, wider paddle.

This paddle fits an attacking game built around deep serves, aggressive returns, drives, and overheads. Its elongated shape gives you extra reach, while the long handle supports two-handed shots and added leverage. The fiberglass face is described as offering easy power and a softer feel, so you do not need an especially fast swing to create pace.

The 13 mm core gives it more control and comfort than the thinner Boom Tour EX. That makes it more manageable for touch shots and kitchen exchanges, although the elongated shape still points toward power rather than maximum quickness. HEAD's buyer review praises its power, spin, forgiveness on off-center hits, and short-game touch, but that is only one opinion.
