Overview
The Radical Pro weighs 8.1 ounces and uses a 15 mm PP and fiberglass core with a fiberglass hitting surface. That combination supports easy power while keeping the paddle comfortable on contact. Its 16-inch length and 7.88-inch width give you useful reach without making it especially narrow or demanding.
The widebody shape is built around consistency and a larger sweet spot. The Ergo Grip adds a conventional, comfort-focused handle shape. Reviewers describe the paddle as powerful but still controlled, with vibration-dampening comfort that can help if firm contact bothers your arm.
Play style
This paddle fits an aggressive baseline game and players who like driving the ball hard. Its fiberglass face and 8.1-ounce weight can add pop, while the 15 mm core helps keep resets, blocks, and placement manageable. The widebody design also favors forgiveness during quick exchanges at the kitchen.
The textured face is reported to help with spin on serves and groundstrokes. Reviewers disagree about its spin ceiling: some praise its spin and rough surface, while others place fiberglass below raw-carbon paddles. Choose it when power and comfort matter more than maximum spin potential.
Best for
- Players who want powerful baseline drives
- Players moving to a first serious paddle upgrade
- Players who want a large sweet spot and forgiving widebody shape
- Players who prefer a softer, more comfortable feel
- Players who need useful reach without an elongated, narrow frame
Look elsewhere if
- Players chasing the highest possible spin from a raw-carbon face
- Players who prefer an especially light, fast-handling paddle
- Players who want a narrow shape built mainly for quick hands
- Players who dislike fiberglass faces or want maximum touch above power
Strengths
- Strong power potential from the fiberglass hitting surface and 8.1-ounce weight
- Forgiving response from the widebody shape and reported large sweet spot
- Balanced power and control from the 15 mm core
- Comfortable contact, according to reviewers who note vibration dampening
- Textured face reported to support spin on serves and groundstrokes
Things to consider
- Fiberglass may offer less spin potential than raw-carbon paddles
- The 8.1-ounce weight may feel slower than a lighter paddle during rapid hand battles
- Its power can require extra touch on soft shots and controlled resets
- One review reports more face cracking when swinging firmly from the baseline
- Check the handle fit if you prefer a longer grip or a different circumference
