Selkirk Sport AMPED Control Epic

The Epic uses a 16mm polypropylene honeycomb core and a Fiberglass FiberFlex+ face. That thick core is built for a softer feel, vibration absorption, and consistent ball response. The textured fiberglass face adds friction for control and spin. Selkirk lists this paddle at 8.65 ounces, within a broad 7.9-to-9.4-ounce range, so exact weight matters before buying.

Its traditional 15.75-by-8-inch shape gives you a familiar balance of hitting area and reach. The 5.25-inch handle leaves room for a two-handed backhand, while the 4.25-inch octagonal grip suits a medium grip preference. Reviewers describe the AMPED Epic as powerful and controlled, but one review says its thicker profile may take adjustment and demands strength to use well.

This paddle fits a control-first game that still needs dependable drives. The 16mm core and fiberglass face support soft hands, placement, and spin at the kitchen, while the paddle's weight and face material add enough pop for shots from the baseline. Selkirk positions it for players who want control and spin without losing power.

The long handle helps two-handed backhands and adds reach during exchanges. Players who attack with large swings may appreciate its power, but the heavier end of the listed weight range can slow quick hands. Check the actual weight if you frequently reset balls or defend rapid volley battles.
